Othello

A Shakespearean play, Othello is a classic read. The overall plot is not hard to follow; one man is jealous of another and willing to do anything to see his demise. The jealous man is named Iago, who is secretly plotting against Othello, the general, for choosing Micheal Cassio to be his lieutenant instead of him. He uses his cunning wit, reverse psychology, and sheer luck to make his cruel scheme come to fruition. Often referred to as "honest", Iago is anything but that. In the end, however, his mischievous plot (which resulted in numerous deaths) is revealed and he is sentenced to torture. Themes of loyalty and appearance are key in this play.
